The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for the position of Equipment Operator II in the Sanitation Department.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will perform skilled work in safely operating front-end loading sanitation equipment and/or over-the-road sanitation tractor-trailer equipment either on a commercial sanitation route or between the sanitary landfill and the transfer station.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Checksequipmenttoinsureproper/safeoperatingconditionaspartofapre-tripandpost-trip preventive maintenance program.
- Responsibleforsafelyoperatingcommercialroutefront-endloaderinawidevarietyoftraffic conditions and safety hazards.
- Operateslift-cyclefeaturesoncommercialroutefront-endloaderinplacing,servicing,anddumping a variety of sanitation dumpsters into the vehicle for transport to the transfer station and/or landfill.
- Operatesatractor-trailerunitintransportingtrashfromthetransferstationtothe
- Checksvehiclefluidlevelsandperformsminormaintenanceon
- Reportsvehiclemaintenanceneedstosupervisorand/orFleet
- Collectsloosedebrisinoraroundcommercialdumpsteranddepositsinthepacker
- Assistsinpolicingthegroundsof thetransferstationincollectingloose
- Complieswithestablishedsafetypoliciesand
- Operatesstreetsweeperinordertocleanandwashstreetsandtopickgravelonroadshoulder and replace on streets.
- Mayberequiredtocollect,repair,anddistributepolycartsas
- Operatestwo-wayradioinreceivingandtransmittinginformationwhileinthe
- Performanyotherrelateddutiesasrequiredor
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have:
ā High school or GED
ā Previous experience in the operation of a front-end packer and/or experience in the operation of a tractor-trailer tandem and backhoe required
ā Must possess a valid Oklahoma Class "A" Commercial Driver's License and satisfactory motor vehicle record
