The Front Office is the heartbeat of the guest experience — and as the Assistant Front Office Manager, you’ll help keep everything running smoothly from the moment guests arrive to the moment they check out.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and enjoys balancing guest service, team leadership, and hotel operations. You’ll support the Front Office Manager in leading Front Desk operations, creating memorable guest experiences, and helping ensure every stay reflects the warmth and energy of Sonesta’s People People culture.

What you’ll be doing
What you’ll be doing
- Support daily Front Office operations including Front Desk, guest services, check-in/check-out processes, and lobby experience management.
- Assist with supervising, training, coaching, scheduling, and supporting Front Desk Agents and guest service teams.
- Help ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by responding quickly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and service recovery situations.
- Support room inventory management, room assignments, reservations coordination, and upselling opportunities to optimize occupancy and revenue.
- Partner closely with Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and hotel leadership teams to support seamless hotel operations and guest experiences.
- Monitor Front Office operations to ensure compliance with brand standards, service expectations, safety procedures, and operational policies.
- Assist with onboarding, employee engagement, performance feedback, and team development initiatives.
- Support operational reporting, cash handling, shift audits, labor management, and daily hotel communications.
- Maintain strong knowledge of PMS systems, reservations platforms, loyalty programs, and hotel operational procedures.
- Assist with VIP arrivals, group check-ins, special requests, and elevated guest experiences as needed.
- Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Front Office Manager as required.
- Help foster a welcoming, energetic, and guest-focused environment aligned with Sonesta’s People People philosophy.

What great looks like
- Previous Front Office, hotel operations, guest services, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience within hotels or hospitality operations preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Front Desk operations, PMS systems, reservations, room inventory management, and guest service standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and operational coordination skills.
- Experience handling guest recovery situations and creating exceptional guest experiences preferred.
- Positive, collaborative, and service-focused leadership approach.
- A passion for hospitality, teamwork, guest engagement, and operational excellence.
- Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call support as needed.
Anticipated Pay Range & Additional Job Information
Pay ranges from $28.00 to $29.00 per hour. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills, and job specific experience/overall experience.
