Job Description


The Mutual Funds Customer Service Representative will serve as a liaison between GFS Mutual Fund clients and financial intermediaries in the areas related to electronic trading as well as broker/dealer servicing. The processing of trades, including timely and accurate resolution of rejects, account transfers and maintenance updates, problem solving and research, and money movement to/from financial institutions will be performed daily. Duties are balanced between customer service (to internal and external clients), processing, and projects. The Mutual Funds Specialist may also be involved in Closed End fund trading, Exchange Traded Fund servicing as well as other specialized activities as dictated by the client.

Job Duties:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between mutual fund clients and financial intermediaries, supporting electronic trading and broker-dealer servicing activities.
  • Process mutual fund transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely resolution of trade rejects and exceptions.
  • Manage account transfers, maintenance requests, and money movement transactions with financial institutions.
  • Conduct research and problem resolution for complex transaction and client servicing issues.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal partners and external clients.
  • Monitor daily operational activity to ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support fund operations and maintain service quality standards.
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and client experience.
  • Support Closed-End Fund trading and servicing activities as required.
  • Assist with Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) servicing and related operational functions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audit, compliance, and operational requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, intermediaries, and business partners while delivering high-quality service.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
  • One to two years of related work experience

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Three or more years of finance, accounting or reconcilement experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of financial industry
  • Familiarity with Mutual Fund systems and processes
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to plan and prioritize multiple processes effectively with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to identify and resolve/escalate problems with minimal guidance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office applications

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week. The position is Monday through Friday from 7am to 4 pm.
