Overview

Allspring is seeking an on-site Tech Services Engineer to serve as the technical owner and subject matter expert for the firm's enterprise Managed File Transfer (MFT) and Workload Automation services, primarily powered by GoAnywhere and AutoSys. These services are critical to business operations, enabling the secure movement of data and orchestration of automated processes that support operational, financial, regulatory, and client-facing functions across the organization.

This role is responsible for the engineering, design, governance, and strategic direction of these services. The engineer will provide technical leadership for the GoAnywhere and AutoSys platforms while evaluating their long-term fit within the firm's technology landscape. This includes developing service roadmaps, recommending enhancements, and guiding future investment, modernization, or migration decisions.

Working closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, vendors, and operational support staff, the Data Orchestration Engineer will ensure these services remain reliable, scalable, secure, and aligned with evolving business needs. While support teams provide day-to-day operations, this role serves as the primary technical escalation point for complex issues, critical incidents, and service improvements.

Beyond data movement and job scheduling, these services provide essential enterprise capabilities including secure access controls, auditability, stakeholder notifications, malware protection, data resiliency, backup and recovery, data quality validation, and historical data visibility. The engineer will drive the adoption and enhancement of these capabilities to ensure business-critical data is secure, traceable, recoverable, and actionable.

The ideal candidate combines deep engineering expertise with a strategic mindset, leveraging AutoSys, GoAnywhere, and related technologies to advance Allspring's data orchestration capabilities. By serving as both a technical authority and service steward, this role ensures that the firm's enterprise data movement and automation services remain resilient, efficient, and positioned to support future business objectives.

We currently operate in a hybrid working model, whereby you will be required to work in-office 4 days per week.

  • Design and enhance secure, resilient, and observable data movement and workflow automation solutions across on-premises, cloud, and partner ecosystems.
  • Develop service capabilities for data protection, access control, monitoring, auditability, exception management, and operational transparency.
  • Lead resolution of complex production issues, serve as the highest-level technical escalation point, and drive continuous service improvement through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Partner across engineering, infrastructure, cloud, security, and vendor teams to deliver integrated, compliant, and high-performing enterprise solutions.
