Title: Resilience and Third-Party Risk Intern, Spring 2027

Internship candidates can expect a full-time onsite internship program during Spring 2027 as a year-round intern. Specific program dates will be shared during the recruiting process.

Resilience and Third Party Risk Intern

As a Resilience and Third Party Risk Intern, you will support the Business Continuity and Third Party Risk Management teams and work alongside your hiring manager, mentor, and colleagues on activities that help strengthen Northwestern Mutual鈥檚 operational resilience. You will gain exposure to how the company prepares for business disruptions, supports continuity planning and testing, and identifies and monitors risks associated with third parties. Job responsibilities include:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with maintaining business continuity plans and supporting documentation.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Support business continuity exercises, scenario testing, and post-exercise activities, including organizing results and tracking follow-up items.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with third party risk activities, including due diligence documentation, risk assessment support, issue tracking, and ongoing monitoring.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Collect, organize, and analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities related to resilience and third party risk.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Prepare clear reports, presentations, meeting materials, and status updates for internal stakeholders.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Participate in meetings with business partners and learn how resilience and third-party risk requirements are applied across the company.

Bring Your Best! What this role needs. Minimum qualifications聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Pursuing a bachelor鈥檚 degree from an accredited college or university, with anticipated graduation after the internship; majors in business, risk management, finance, information systems, supply chain, data analytics, or a related field are preferred

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Coursework, project, volunteer, or work experience involving business analysis, risk, continuity planning, data analysis, operations, information technology, or a related area

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Employer immigration sponsorship is not available for this role聽


Preferred skills and Proficiencies聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Interest in business continuity, operational resilience, risk management, third party risk, or related disciplines

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to evaluate information, ask thoughtful questions, and identify practical solutions

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, well-organized work

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize information for varied audiences

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and collaboration tools, with an interest in learning risk and resilience systems

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Self-motivated, curious, collaborative, and willing to learn in a professional environment

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle information with appropriate discretion
