The Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) Department at Children’s Minnesota is seeking PGY2 or higher residents from the University of Minnesota Department of Pediatrics or Medicine-Pediatrics who are interested in moonlighting opportunities.
Children’s PHM team is a collaborative medical practice of pediatricians and pediatric nurse practitioners who specialize in the care of hospitalized infants, children, and teenagers. A 24/7/365 on-site service located at both the Minneapolis and St. Paul hospital campuses.
POSITION INFORMATION
While working under the supervision of an attending hospitalist, you will assist the PHM teams with clinical duties.
See patients directly and communicate with attending physicians.
Respond promptly to all requests received from nursing staff and other members of Children’s Minnesota’s multidisciplinary team regarding patient care.
Document findings and care in the medical record according to hospital and program protocol.
If admitting new patients, communicate with the receiving team prior to shift completion.
Provide safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.
SHIFT DETAIL
$85/hour
Shifts: Variable, mostly MD helper shifts for admitting provider, primarily afternoon/evening (3p-12a) and overnight (11p-7a), Monday to Sunday
Open scheduling available: No minimum or maximum shifts per month, sign up periods approximately 3 times per year
PHM Operations works around your residency clinical schedule
PGY2 or higher resident from the University of Minnesota Department of Pediatrics or Medicine Pediatrics Program that rotates with Children’s Minnesota
Must have completed at > 2 inpatient hospital medicine rotations
Agree that moonlighter shifts will not violate residency duty hours or program requirements (e.g. not scheduled on another shift, not on back-up call for residency)
Submitted Cover Letter and Letter of support from residency program director
