Civil Superintendent – Data Center Construction

We are working confidentially with a General Contractor delivering a major data center project in the Mobile, Alabama area and are looking to appoint an experienced Civil Superintendent to join the site team.

This is a full-time, site-based position.

Recent data center construction experience is essential.

The Role

The Civil Superintendent will take ownership of day-to-day field operations across the civil and sitework scope, working closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, engineers and the wider site team.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing civil and sitework activities across the project
  

• Overseeing earthwork, excavation, grading and site preparation
  

• Coordinating underground utilities, stormwater and drainage
  

• Managing roads, paving, concrete and external works
  

• Supervising civil subcontractors and trade partners
  

• Driving daily site coordination, sequencing and short-term planning
  

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and field requirements
  

• Monitoring progress against the construction schedule
  

• Identifying field issues and driving practical solutions
  

• Coordinating civil works with structural, MEP and building teams
  

• Maintaining quality and safety standards across the site
  

• Supporting inspections, testing, punch list and closeout
  

• Leading subcontractor meetings and field coordination
  

• Reporting progress, risks and issues to project leadership
  

What We’re Looking For

• Recent data center or mission critical construction experience is essential
  

• Strong General Contractor or Construction Manager background
  

• Experience as a Civil Superintendent, Site Superintendent or General Superintendent
  

• Strong background in earthwork, excavation, grading and site development
  

• Experience with underground utilities, stormwater and drainage
  

• Experience managing civil subcontractors and field crews
  

• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and site logistics
  

• Experience on large-scale ground-up construction projects
  

• Strong safety, quality and field coordination experience
  

• Excellent communication and leadership skills
  

• Ability to work full-time on site in the Mobile, Alabama area
