Description

 Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 7 am- 7:30 pm.


Core Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain schedules: Develop daily, weekly, and monthly staffing plans for the nursing or care department, adjusting for call-ins, leaves, and census changes.
  • Coordinate staff coverage: Assign and reassign staff to shifts to ensure adequate coverage across all units or departments.
  • Manage staffing vacancies: Fill coverage gaps promptly to avoid understaffing.
  • Use scheduling software: Update and manage electronic schedules, track attendance, and correct time clock discrepancies.
  • Communicate with staff and management: Liaise with unit managers, directors, and temporary staffing agencies to ensure smooth operations.
  • Follow regulations: Adhere to state and facility staffing rules, resident rights, and safety protocols.
  • Support resident care: Work in coordination with caregivers to ensure timely and appropriate staffing for resident needs 

Requirements

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certifications: Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) in good standing is required.
  • Computer skills: Proficiency in scheduling software and EMR systems.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work with residents, families, and staff.
  • Problem-solving: Ability to resolve staffing issues independently and fairly.
  • Physical ability: Lifting up to 20 lbs, moving frequently, and working in varied environments.

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based but may move throughout the facility to check on staff and residents.
  • Works regular shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • May interact with residents, families, and government personnel, requiring patience and professionalism
