Role Overview
The SeniorQuality Assurance Analyst is responsible for leading the complete end-to-endtesting lifecycle encompassing both manual and automated testing methodologies.This role involves conducting comprehensive testing of the product's existingand new features, designing robust automation frameworks, ensuring defectidentification and resolution, and establishing a culture of high productquality and zero-defect thinking.
Working inclose coordination with Development and Product Teams, the Sr. QAA brings deepQA expertise, disciplined execution, and strong quality standards to everytesting engagement. The Sr. QAA serves as the primary quality point of contactduring implementation and production support — ensuring that products arethoroughly tested, quality risks are identified and mitigated, and stakeholdersare kept informed of testing progress and findings.
Roles & Responsibilities
1.      Manual Testing Execution
- Conduct comprehensive manual testing of web-based anddesktop-based applications covering functional, integration, system, and UATphases.
- Execute exploratory testing to identify edge cases and potentialdefects.
- Perform regression testing to ensure existing functionalityremains unaffected by changes.
- Conduct user experience (UX) and usability testing to validateapplication usability.
- Participate in UAT coordination and sign-off processes withstakeholders.
2.      Automation Testing & Framework Design
- Â Design and implement robust automation frameworks according toproject structure and best practices.
- Develop, design and execute automated tests using scripts andautomation tools (Selenium, UFT, TestNG, etc.) to validate functionality.
- Create and maintain reusable test libraries, utilities, andcomponents to maximize code efficiency.
- Implement data-driven testing approaches to test multiplescenarios with varied inputs.
- Establish continuous integration (CI) pipelines for automated testexecution.
- Maintain and enhance test automation suites to ensure continuouscoverage of critical application paths and regression prevention.
- Document test automation architecture, design patterns, andmaintenance guidelines.
3.      Test Planning & Case Development
- Create and implement detailed test cases for functional, unit,performance, security, and scalability testing.
- Â Establish comprehensive test strategies tailored to productcharacteristics and client requirements.
- Define test scenarios, test data requirements, and acceptancecriteria.
- Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and testexecutions.
4.      Security Testing & Vulnerability Assessment
- Conduct comprehensive security testing to identifyvulnerabilities, security flaws, and compliance gaps in applications.
- Perform SQL injection testing, cross-site scripting (XSS) testing,cross-site request forgery (CSRF), and authentication/authorization testing.
- Execute load and stress testing to validate application behaviorunder extreme conditions and identify performance bottlenecks.
- Â Identify and document security risks, data protection issues,potential exploits, and compliance concerns.
- Validate secure data transmission, encryption protocols, securesession management, and SSL/TLS implementations.
- Â Test API security, OAuth/JWT authentication mechanisms, role-basedaccess control (RBAC), and permission enforcement.
- Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessment tosimulate real-world attacks.
- Coordinate with Development and Security teams to remediateidentified security issues and implement secure coding practices.
- Ensure adherence to security standards and regulatory compliancerequirements (GDPR, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, etc.) as applicable.
5.      Defect Identification & Quality Assurance
- Detect and minimize bugs, errors, technical, security, andfunctional flaws in applications.
- Establish quantitative trends of types of bugs and their recurringfrequency for continuous improvement.
- Outline steps for minimizing defects and preventing recurrence.
- Ensure thorough defect management through proactive follow-up andfeedback with Development Teams.
6.      Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare comprehensive Test Result Reports (TRR) for each testedrelease.
- Ensure immediate discussion with Technology Team for validation ofobservations in TRR.
- Maintain detailed testing documentation and execution logs.
- Generate meaningful reports on testing progress, defect metrics,security findings, and quality trends.
7.      Quality Culture & Process Adherence
- Establish and promote culture of 'High Product Quality' and 'ZeroDefect' amongst Development and Product Teams.
- Follow defined standard practices and methodologies for testingand defect tracking.
- Suggest new tools and techniques to improve test efficiency,automation coverage, and overall QA strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies including TravelPolicy, Information Security (INFOSEC) Policy, and other applicable guidelines.
Requirements
Qualification / Skill-sets
- B.Sc. (IT) / B.E. / MCA or other Technical Graduates with formalcourse-work in Software Development, Testing or Quality Assurance
- Certification in Software Testing or Automation Testing
- 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance / Software Testingprofile for Software solutions
- In-depth knowledge of Software Testing Process and methodologiesis a pre-requisite
- Sound understanding of Functional Testing and .Net platform(especially ASP.Net) is expected
- Hands-on experience with both manual testing and automationtesting frameworks
- Knowledge of Security Testing methodologies, vulnerabilityassessment, and security risk identification
- Understanding of OWASP Top 10, common web applicationvulnerabilities, and security best practices
- Keen desire to research and learn emerging testing techniques andability to incorporate these meaningfully in products
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability toidentify root causes and structure solutions
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability toengage confidently with stakeholders
Added Advantage Qualification/ Skill-sets
- Hands-on experience on all types of Software Testing methodologies(Black Box, White Box, Grey Box, etc.)
- Specialization in Security and/or Automated Testing
- Hands-on experience on Selenium/Unified Functional Testing (UFT)or similar automation tools
- Knowledge in Selenium Tools such as Selenium IDE, Selenium RC,Selenium WebDriver, TestNG & Selenium Grid
- Knowledge of Android / iOS testing tools and mobile app testingmethodologies
- Knowledge of Security testing tools and practices
- Exposure to test management tools (HP ALM, Qtest, or equivalent)
- Sound interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to workcollaboratively across teams
