The Human Resource Manager will work closely with business leaders and line managers to align people priorities with operational and organizational objectives. The position will provide practical and strategic HR support across workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, organizational development and compliance.

The successful candidate will combine strong business understanding with hands-on HR expertise and will be comfortable operating in a dynamic manufacturing and distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with business and departmental leaders to understand operational priorities and translate them into effective people strategies and initiatives.
  • Advise and support managers on performance management, employee relations, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness and employee development.
  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities to ensure the organization attracts, selects and integrates the right talent.
  • Support talent management, succession planning and employee development initiatives across the business.
  • Guide managers in handling disciplinary matters, grievances and other employee relations issues fairly and consistently.
  • Ensure compliance with Tanzanian labour laws, company policies and established HR procedures.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HR policies, systems and processes.
  • Monitor workforce trends and analyse HR data, including turnover, absenteeism, staffing levels and employee performance, to support informed decision-making.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and contribute to maintaining a positive, inclusive and high-performance workplace culture.
  • Support organizational change and restructuring initiatives while ensuring effective communication and employee engagement.
  • Work closely with the broader HR team to ensure accurate employee documentation, records management and delivery of HR services.
  • Prepare regular HR reports and provide management with practical recommendations for addressing people-related risks and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related field.
  • At least 3 - 5 years of progressive HR generalist or HR business partnering experience.
  • Experience within an FMCG, manufacturing, distribution or similarly operational environment will be an added advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of Tanzanian labour laws and established HR practices.
  • Practical experience in employee relations, performance management, recruitment and organizational development.
  • Demonstrated ability to build credible and collaborative relationships with employees, managers and senior leaders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism, discretion and sound judgement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with HR information systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.
