Retail Warehouse Associate, Lead

The position of a Retail Warehouse Associate Lead is of great significance to Valley Wide Cooperative. A person in this position is responsible for helping oversee the safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely dispatch of goods. They ensure workplace safety and health requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock. The warehouse lead needs to be organized and be able to prioritize daily. This is a safety-sensitive position. 

Job Summary:

These are the basic requirements of the position and must be performed competently.

• Work closely with store receiving clerk to accept and receive in all orders.
• Ensure the warehouse is clean and safe.
• Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse’s physical condition and equipment, maintaining a safe work environment and procedures in the warehouse.
• Assist store receiving clerk in inventory management.
• Maintain and organize inventory in the warehouse.
• Assist in receiving and physical unloading of deliveries.
• Assist in examining incoming deliveries for accuracy and/or damaged goods.
• Inform and assist management in tracking of inventory levels.
• Assist in maintaining outside areas of the store including keeping the fencing yard clean, organized and product put away properly.
• Operate a forklift safely.
• Confer and coordinate activities with other departments and locations periodically.
• Adhere to the company’s policies and safety guidelines.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent customer service always.
• Assist other employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Must be willing to become propane certified upon hire.
• Acknowledge all customers, employees, and vendors in a friendly and appropriate manner.
• Ability to multitask and determine order of need and task priority based on level of importance.
• Ability to communicate using proper telephone etiquette with customers, other employees, and vendors.
• Must have a strong team player focus in all interactions.
• Ability to properly handle money, give change and record multiple transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Must exhibit a professional and positive image.
