Purpose
Support Newmar’s financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function by turning financial and operating data into clear insight for better leadership decisions. Develop budgets, forecasts and analysis that show how demand, production, product mix and cost shape our results. Work closely with Finance, Operations, Sales and other teams to help Newmar grow profitably and meet Winnebago Industries expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain models for the annual budget, rolling forecasts and long-term plans. Gather input from department leaders and test key assumptions such as retail and wholesale demand, dealer inventory, backlog and production rates.
- Prepare monthly business review materials. Explain results against budget, forecast and prior year, including changes in volume, price, mix, material, labor, overhead and warranty. Show how results tie to dealer activity, backlog and the ups and downs of the RV market.
- Analyze profitability by model, product line and option, and support pricing, incentive and product decisions.
- Track key measures such as margin, cash, working capital, production rates and forecast accuracy, and flag risks and opportunities early.
- Build business cases and return on investment analysis for capital projects, new products and process improvements.
- Work with Accounting to tie forecasts to actual results, support the month end close and keep data consistent across reports.
- Lead analysis projects from start to finish with little direction, from framing the question to recommending next steps.
- Prepare reporting and analysis for Newmar leaders and Winnebago Industries corporate finance, and present findings and recommendations directly to the CFO and leadership team. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Process Improvement
- Improve planning and reporting tools to cut manual work and speed up the forecast. Partner with IT to use automation, analytics, dashboards and AI tools so leaders get faster and more accurate insight.
- Keep models well documented, controlled and easy for others to use. Handle data responsibly and protect sensitive information.
Measures of Success
- Budgets, forecasts and monthly reports delivered on the agreed calendar with no major errors.
- Forecasts within agreed accuracy targets, with clear explanations of what is driving results.
- Analysis that leaders trust and use to make pricing, product, cost and capital decisions.
- Measurable cuts in manual work and reporting time from better models, tools and automation.
- Positive feedback from the CFO and business partners on the quality and usefulness of analysis.
Candidate Profile
- A strong analyst with a solid understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting and financial statements.
- A clear communicator who turns complex numbers into simple stories, practical choices and next steps for finance and nonfinance leaders.
- A curious, detail-oriented thinker with sound judgment and the confidence to challenge assumptions.
- A team player who is just as comfortable working with plant leaders as with executives, and who follows through.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field required. MBA, CPA or CMA preferred.
- 5+ years of financial planning and analysis or related finance experience, preferably at a manufacturer. Experience in RV, automotive, marine or other highly configured products preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience building financial models required.
- Experience with ERP, financial reporting and business intelligence tools such as Power BI. Infor XA experience preferred.
- Experience using automation or AI tools to improve reporting preferred.
- Experience preparing reporting that meets the requirements of a publicly traded company, such as SEC and SOX standards, and supporting a corporate finance team preferred.
