This role is responsible for precise cutting of printed materials, leading second-shift operations, and ensuring productivity, quality, and safety standards are met. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical cutting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to guide and support a small team during second-shift operations. Key Responsibilities   Cutter Operation Set up and operate a guillotine cutter  Read and interpret job tickets, layouts, and cut sheets Perform precise trimming, cutting, and stacking of paper and printed materials Ensure finished pieces meet quality and dimensional specifications Perform routine maintenance, blade changes, and minor troubleshooting Lead Responsibilities Act as the lead operator for 2nd shift operations Assign work, coordinate job flow, and monitor production schedules Train, mentor, and support 2nd shift team members as needed Serve as point of contact for supervisors during second shift Ensure safety procedures and company policies are followed Quality & Safety Inspect work for accuracy and quality throughout production Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas Follow all OSHA and equipment safety guidelines Qualifications  3+ years experience operating a guillotine cutter in a commercial printing environment Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred Strong understanding of paper types, grain direction, and finishing processes Ability to read job tickets and work independently Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail Ability to stand for long periods, bend, twist and lift up to 50 lbs Reliable attendance and ability to work 2nd shift consistently Preferred Experience Background in bindery or finishing departments Experience with high-volume or quick-turn print environments Familiarity with digital and offset print workflows What We Offer Competitive hourly pay (based on experience) Shift premium for 2nd shift Overtime opportunities Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Stable, growing company with advancement opportunities
