What is a Customer Support Specialist?

The Customer Support Specialist is responsible for handling customer inquiries, supporting order management activities, and resolving issues to ensure a high level of service and responsiveness. This role works closely with Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations to support customer needs and ensure accurate and timely execution. The position plays a key role in maintaining customer satisfaction, supporting internal processes, and contributing to overall service performance.

What You Can Expect to Do as a Customer Support Specialist:

  • Manage customer inquiries related to orders, products, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Process and support customer orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and complete order fulfillment.
  • Monitor order status and communicate updates to customers proactively.
  • Resolve order discrepancies, billing issues, and service-related concerns.
  • Maintain accurate customer and order data within ERP and CRM systems.
  • Support documentation and recordkeeping related to customer interactions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance customer experience.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior team members or leadership as needed.

What We Are Looking For in a Customer Support Specialist:

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in customer support, customer service, or a related role.
  • Experience working with ERP and/or CRM systems such as SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, or similar.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to resolve issues effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Manufacturing or distribution experience preferred.
