Assistant Group Leader (Part-time)

Tobin Beaudet Schools is seeking a warm, reliable Assistant Group Leader to support our school-age program. This part-time role focuses on creating a safe, engaging environment for children while collaborating closely with colleagues and maintaining strong communication with families. The Assistant Group Leader assists the Group Leader in facilitating daily activities, ensures consistent supervision, and upholds all safety and regulatory standards.

What will you be engaged in day-to-day?

• Maintaining and valuing the professional culture; ensuring a developmentally appropriate understanding of school aged children.
• Contributing to the established school wide open communication. Consulting with your team regarding daily schedule, individual children and parent needs.
• Ensuring families feel welcome and well oriented to the program when dropping off or picking up their child.
• Communicating with your team on a regular basis, keeping them informed of all activity within the school relating to general business, children, faculty and parents.
• Reporting facility, inventory, equipment, and supply needs as required. Assisting in the safe operations to include sanitary bathrooms, kitchens and classrooms; following the posted evacuation plan in each classroom.
• Participating in required training programs, conferences, courses or other aspects of professional growth.
• Attending regular faculty meetings.
• Maintaining Department of Early Education and Care compliance, COA, and QRIS; report to the Executive Director any potential non-compliances in a timely way. Meet with the Department of Early Education and Care licensor as needed. Communicate with the Director and the School Street team regarding EEC/COA/QRIS regulations on a regular basis.
• Serving as a mandated reporter, reporting any suspicion of child abuse or neglect to the Directors for follow-through.

Requirements

Qualifications that will help you succeed in this role include:

• Working towards High School Diploma, High School Diploma, or Undergraduate degree preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Warm, engaging presence with the ability to build positive relationships.
• High attention to detail with strong follow-through.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and collaborative in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; willingness to learn additional platforms.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when needed.
• Flexibility and willingness to assist colleagues and support multiple classrooms.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 35 lbs., climbing stairs, and active play.
