About the Company

Russ Hadick Associates is partnering with an aerospace manufacturing organization that produces precision components and assemblies for customers in commercial aviation, defense, and general aviation. The company supports demanding aerospace programs where dimensional accuracy, dependable workmanship, and consistent product quality are essential.

Position Overview

The Quality Inspector verifies that machined components meet defined engineering, dimensional, and quality requirements before progressing through production or being released for delivery. This individual evaluates parts at multiple manufacturing stages, selects appropriate measurement techniques, and documents inspection results in accordance with established procedures.

Working alongside production and quality personnel, the inspector helps identify discrepancies early, maintain traceable quality records, and support compliance with aerospace standards and customer-specific specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Examine manufactured parts against engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances, and applicable acceptance criteria.

  • Carry out first article, in-process, and final inspections based on production requirements and established inspection plans.

  • Select and operate appropriate measuring instruments to verify component dimensions and characteristics.

  • Evaluate parts for visible imperfections, dimensional deviations, and other conditions that may affect product acceptance.

  • Create casting impressions when required to assess internal diameters and other difficult-to-measure features.

  • Record inspection results, complete required reports, and maintain accurate supporting documentation.

  • Follow applicable quality procedures, document control practices, and AS9100 requirements.

  • Apply relevant customer-specific aerospace standards, including Pratt & Whitney requirements where applicable.

  • Communicate inspection findings and potential nonconformances to the appropriate personnel for assessment and resolution.

  • Coordinate with manufacturing teams to clarify inspection requirements and support consistent production quality.

  • Maintain organized inspection records and perform other duties related to product quality as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and dimensional specifications.

  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and related engineering symbols.

  • Practical experience using precision measurement equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and optical comparators.

  • Familiarity with manual and direct computer-controlled (DCC) coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).

  • Ability to recognize visual defects and assess dimensional conformity.

  • Experience conducting first article, production-stage, and final product inspections.

  • Knowledge of inspection documentation, quality records, and document control procedures.

  • Understanding of aerospace manufacturing quality requirements, including AS9100.

  • Strong organizational skills and a consistent approach to accuracy and detail.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with production and quality teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in aerospace machining or precision manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with Pratt & Whitney specifications and inspection requirements.

  • Experience using Epicor or a comparable enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
