Wage: Starting at $20.00-$22.00 an hour

SUMMARY

Pineland Farms Produce Farm in New Gloucester is looking for late-season drivers to join our team starting in late-July and wrapping up in October. This seasonal position offers up to 40+ hours a week (5-7 days) or as little as 1 day per week if it is a weekend day. No delivery experience is required and only a class C in good standing is required; all drivers start with a 2-day window of training and shadowing with an experienced delivery driver. We all work as a team to ensure everyone is loaded efficiently in the mornings and afternoons as the season shifts. Deliveries are performed in the greater Portland area and generally on a box truck, 6 days/week (no Mondays). The trucks are on the road by 7am daily. Shifts are from 5:50 AM- 2pm, times may vary slightly. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Load and unload produce for deliveries (Ability to lift 50 pounds comfortably and/or repetitively) 
• Mornings and weekends required with a start time at 5:50 AM.
• Driving a box truck and/or van.
• Must be comfortable working outside.
• Assemble pallets of products using pack sheets.
• Operate manual and electric pallet jacks.
• Class C drivers license in good standing.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School/GED or equivalent experience. On-the-job training will be provided.
• Driving experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Safely operating a pallet jack. Training provided by Pineland Farms as needed. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and understand directions, interpret documents such as safety rules, and procedure manuals. 

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
