Job DetailsJob Location: New Hartford, NY 13413Position Type: Part TimeEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $16.00 - $16.00 HourlyJob Shift: DayDEPARTMENT: Nursing/Adult Day Care POSITION: Companion Care Aide SUPERVISOR: Adult Day Care Director HOURS: Part-time, Monday- Friday, 10am - 2pm Duties are focused on providing companionship which include: Cleans and busses tables in main dining room after breakfast and after lunch; tidies up, empties trash, checks dates on any food in refrigerator and disposes if applicable, etc. Set up dining room for meals, placing placements, clothing protectors, silverware, adaptive equipment for meal service. Maintain registrant participation by converses with registrants and provide them with dignity and respect at all times. Assists Recreation Coordinator with entertainment activities depending on registrant’s preferences, including accompanying coordinator on outings, or providing activities in his/her absence Provides diversional activities to Registrants who are restless and attempting to get up unassisted or at risk for wandering/elopement. Reports any concerns to nurse/program director. Transports Registrants via wheelchair if applicable to dining room, bathroom, and/or to any activities. Sweeps, mops and vacuums floors as needed. Performs any other duties assigned by the RN, and/or Director. Reports any suspected mistreatment of Registrants immediately to Director. Uses safety measures at all times for Registrants and self. Demonstrates good communication skills and makes appropriate responses to Registrants including the cognitively-impaired Registrants. Attend facilities in service programs, staff meetings, and facility committee meetings as scheduled. Performs duties according to the highest ethical and moral standards and in adherence with the facility’s corporate compliance plan and all applicable governing laws. Adheres to the facility’s confidentiality statement in accessing and safeguarding protected health information (PHI) of Registrants and employees, as necessary to perform job duties. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Possesses verbal, writing, and reading skills necessary to perform duties associated with the position. Possesses a genuine interest in registrants and co-workers as demonstrated by arriving on time at start of shift and working when scheduled, including holidays. Additional Information: Charles T.
