Dental Assistant - Contract

Coordinates the daily activities of the dental associates. Maintains equipment, supplies, operatory area(s), and delivery of quality dental services

Responsibilities:

·        Prepares operatory prior to examination/treatment by setting up instruments consistent with procedure to be performed

·        Assists dentist at chair-side during examination and treatment of patients with suctioning, reflecting tissues, passing instruments, and the preparation and handling of dental materials and medicaments

·        Performs dental laboratory procedures including, model pouring and trimming and fabricating mouth guards

·        Develops and maintains dental x-rays during patient procedures

·        Cleans, bags, and sterilizes instruments used and is responsible for tray set-ups

·        Assists in ordering, stocking, and dispensing inventory items, and maintaining the inventory control system

·        Maintains equipment, supplies, and overall clinical facility as outlined in departmental policies and procedures

·        May participate in training of department's dental assisting students, as directed by management

Qualifications:

·        High School Diploma or equivalent required

·        1-3 years of relevant experience, required
