About the Role:

The Master Electrician will lead electrical restoration efforts in support of disaster response and recovery operations following Tropical Storm Bertha's landfall in southern Louisiana. This role is responsible for overseeing electrical repairs, directing field crews, ensuring compliance with applicable electrical codes and safety standards, and restoring power to critical infrastructure and essential public services. The ideal candidate is a licensed Master Electrician with strong leadership skills, experience managing complex electrical projects, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced emergency response environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Master Electrician license or certification within the United States.
  • Proven experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex electrical distribution systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience supporting federal, military, USACE, FEMA, or government projects
  • Experience with disaster response, emergency power restoration, or infrastructure recovery work
  • Strong background in commercial, industrial, or institutional electrical systems
  • Ability to supervise Journeyman, Apprentice, and electrical support personnel
  • Experience reviewing electrical plans, drawings, diagrams, and specifications
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for power distribution, generators, panels, circuits, and temporary power systems

Responsibilities:

  • Perform QA/QC checks to ensure electrical work is completed accurately, safely, and in compliance with project specifications, NEC requirements, and applicable safety standards.
  • Lead and support electrical inspection, repair, installation, and restoration activities
  • Supervise Journeyman, Apprentice, and electrical support personnel in the field
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, circuits, panels, generators, and temporary power setups
  • Review and interpret electrical plans, drawings, diagrams, and specifications
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with requirements and project specifications
  • Support temporary and permanent power restoration efforts
  • Coordinate daily work activities with project managers, site supervisors, and other trade professionals
  • Identify electrical hazards, deficiencies, and repair needs on-site
  • Document completed work, site conditions, materials used, and any issues requiring follow-up
  • Support emergency response and infrastructure recovery operations as needed
