Pay: $33.00–$38.00/hour, based on licensed experience

St. Bernard Nursing and Rehabilitation, part of the Volare Health portfolio of long-term care skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation centers, is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team.

Position Summary

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works under the direction of a Physical Therapist to implement individualized treatment programs designed to help residents improve mobility, strength, function, and overall quality of life.

In this role, you will:

  • Implement treatment plans and therapeutic programs established by the Physical Therapist.
  • Provide hands-on therapy and therapeutic exercises to support resident goals.
  • Monitor resident progress and communicate observations with the Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team.
  • Encourage residents throughout their rehabilitation journey while promoting independence and functional mobility.
  • Collaborate with nursing and facility staff to support each resident’s highest practicable level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility, state, and federal requirements.
  • Follow applicable regulatory and professional standards, including state and federal regulations and Joint Commission requirements.

Qualifications

  • Current PTA license in the state of Louisiana or graduation from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program with active pursuit of licensure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented approach.
  • Commitment to providing quality care in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting.
