As a Hyperbaric Technician, your specialized skillset fills a growing, vital need in the treatment of complex patient wounds like ulcers, burns, pressure injuries, diabetic foot wounds and skin tears. associated systems and equipment. Monitoring patients in the hyperbaric chamber while undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy, you recognize and notify the clinical staff of patient problems that might arise during treatment andĀ maintainĀ operations of mono-place and multi-place chambers and all ancillary equipment that supports the Hyperbaric Department.Ā Ā

Your EverydayĀ 

Keep patients informed and give periodic updates asĀ appropriate.Ā 

Promote, enforce, and support patient satisfaction, performance improvement, safety, compliance,Ā accreditingĀ and quality initiatives.Ā Ā 

AssistĀ with the preventative maintenance schedule for the hyperbaric systems.Ā 

Maintain and ensureĀ appropriate entriesĀ on all required logs (operations,Ā safetyĀ and maintenance) and that all patient and billing information is entered,Ā forwardedĀ and/orĀ recordedĀ as necessary.Ā 

Prepare the hyperbaric chamber equipment and materials for patients undergoing therapy.Ā 

AssistĀ withĀ operatingĀ the control panel during all dives and make recommendations to physicians as needed.Ā 

Work with the team to schedule patients andĀ to accommodateĀ consultations and emergency treatments.Ā 

Under supervision, change all oxygen, air,Ā nitrogenĀ and 60/40 nitrox bank tanks as needed and dispose of empty tanks inĀ an appropriate manner.Ā 

Process hyperbaric equipment for cleaning,Ā sterilizingĀ and packaging asĀ required.Ā 

Respond to emergency callsĀ in a timely mannerĀ to ensure effective treatment of hyperbaric emergencies.Ā 

AssistĀ inĀ utilizationĀ and maintenance of patient care equipment.Ā 

Maintain the department in a clean, neat, orderlyĀ condition.Ā 

Monitor patients in the hyperbaric systems during the course of therapy and reports and records unusual patients' conditions occurrences.Ā 

Carry out treatment protocols accuratelyĀ as prescribed byĀ the hyperbaric physician.Ā 

Report to the supervisor and/orĀ physicianĀ any changes in the patient's condition.Ā 

Obtain consent and patient vital signs as needed and perform transcutaneous monitoring and point of care glucometer testing as needed.Ā 

Initiate interventions forĀ emotionalĀ needs ofĀ patient/family and to evaluate progress, satisfaction, and expectations.Ā

The Must-HavesĀ

Minimum:Ā 
Ā 

Any of the following: DMT, EMT, Paramedic, Respiratory Therapist, LPN, or RNĀ 

Driving Background (Drive School, Commercial, Military)Ā 

Certified Hyperbaric Technologist through the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology.Ā Ā 

American Heart Association BLS certification.Ā 

Ā 

Preferred:Ā 

2-3 years of experience clinical hyperbaric chamber operationsĀ
