Job Description

Responsible for accounting and financial reporting for a Municipal (Muni) Desk, including transaction oversight, P&L, revenue commentary, and balance sheet substantiation. Preference for experience with municipal securities and internal controls. AFS accounting knowledge is a plus.

Position Summary

The Fixed Income Division (FID) Product Controller supports fixed income trading desks, overseeing transaction monitoring, P&L reporting, and acting as a key control function.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with front office to produce daily, weekly, and monthly P&L analysis
Investigate and resolve P&L discrepancies (trade booking errors, missing deals, system or valuation issues)
Liaise with Front Office, Operations, Technology, Middle Office, and Market Risk
Enhance internal controls through evaluation and implementation of best practices
Perform month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation
Support ad hoc desk requests
Drive process and system improvements through project initiatives
Evaluate new trades for valuation, accounting treatment, and financial disclosure

Qualifications

5+ years of Product Control experience (municipal securities preferred)
Knowledge of accounting principles, including AFS
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Accounting or Finance degree required
