Job DetailsJob Location: NEW YORK HEADQUARTERS - NEW YORK, NY 10118Job Category: InsurancePredominately remote position with a requirement to be in the NYC office every Wednesday. Position Summary: The purpose of this job is to develop pricing and underwriting tools, automate ratemaking process and provide strategic pricing recommendations based on in-depth profitability analysis to optimize business profitability and improve pricing accuracy through actuarial methodologies, technologies and rate filings. This job will perform and communicate pricing goals for large accounts, excess and non-admitted business. This job will also perform reinsurance pricing and reserving estimation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain pricing and underwriting tools, such as policy rating models, large account pricing tool to provide pricing accuracy and facilitate data-driven decision-making across functions. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to inform company pricing strategies and portfolio management, leveraging data such ultimate loss ratio, frequency and severity loss trends, sold to manual ratio and other key performance metrics to optimize profitability outcomes. Partner with underwriting and product development to analyze and enhance risk selection criteria, policy terms, and rating variables. Automate ratemaking process and actuarial reporting for operational efficiency Communicate complex actuarial concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership. Lead special projects and perform additional duties as requested. QualificationsEducation and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field required. Minimum 10 years of professional experience specialized in the actuarial field required. ACAS designation required, FCAS designation preferred. Skills: Proficient in Excel (VBA), PowerPoint, Word, and SQL or other programming languages (e.g. R and Python) required Working knowledge of PowerBI or Tableau preferred. Strong ability to quickly learn new programming languages or software. Strong ability to resolve problems and develop action plans. The salary range for this role is $122,300 - $235,500. The listed annual salary range posted for this position is subject to change and may vary depending on performance, education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, demonstrated proficiency in the competencies required for the role and business needs.  Base pay is just one component of GNY’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus based on performance.
