Job Title: Teacher Assistant for Early Intervention Center


Job Description:

 

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to join our Early Intervention Center. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to support students (age 2-3 yrs old) with diverse needs in a one-on-one setting. This role is essential in fostering a positive learning environment and promoting the development of each student.

If you have a Letter of Approval based on a Criminal Background Check conducted by the NYC DOHMH, we encourage you to apply.


Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.

- Provide one-on-one support to students during classroom activities and lessons.

- Help create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.

- Monitor and document student progress and behavior.

- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop effective teaching strategies.

- Support students in developing social and communication skills.

- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.



Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in early childhood education or special education is a plus.

- Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, is preferred.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.

- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

- Basic knowledge of child development and early intervention strategies.
