About the Role

The Associate Recruiting Assistant is an integral part of Latham’s Associate Recruiting team. This role will be responsible for assisting with all phases of entry‑level hiring and the summer program, including managing applicant materials and correspondence, and coordinating interview schedules and recruiting events, while supporting the applicant process by preparing correspondence with candidates, maintaining filing systems and databases, processing applicant materials for review by appropriate individuals and committee members, and coordinating interview schedules for candidates and interviewers. This role will be located in our New York office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in organizing and representing the firm at recruiting events and external functions, including the firm’s Summer Program
  • Generating specialized recruiting reports and materials
  • Assisting with the coordination of meetings and presentations related to committee topics, and participating in local and global recruiting committee activities
  • Processing expenses and reimbursements associated with recruiting efforts
  • Promoting effective work practices by working collaboratively as a team member and demonstrating respect for coworkers
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains 

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Exhibit well‑developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively at all organizational levels and work collaboratively in a team environment with a customer‑service focus
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion and strong attention to detail to ensure quality assurance
  • Possess strong organizational and analytical skills to manage time, prioritize tasks, handle multiple deadlines, and work with minimal supervision, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office

And have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Previous professional experience, preferably
