The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with The New York Foundling to find qualified candidates for a Bilingual Case Planner – Enhanced Family Foster Care (EFFC) in Staten Island, New York. The New York Foundling is a nonprofit organization that has been supporting children, families, and individuals since 1869 through foster care, behavioral health, developmental disabilities, and community-based services. The organization is committed to helping people build stability, resilience, and independence through a whole-person, whole-family approach.

Position Overview

The Bilingual Case Planner works with children and families involved in the foster care system to help achieve permanency through reunification, adoption, or preparation for independent living. This role partners with birth parents, foster parents, youth, and community providers to develop service plans, coordinate resources, and advocate for families. The Case Planner conducts home visits, participates in court proceedings, maintains documentation, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to promote the safety and well-being of children.

This position is located in Staten Island, New York.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage birth parents, foster parents, and youth while assessing child safety and permanency needs.
  • Conduct home visits, family meetings, and supervised family visitations.
  • Develop safety plans and provide crisis intervention using a trauma-informed approach.
  • Advocate for families by coordinating referrals and accompanying them to medical, housing, school, and treatment appointments.
  • Maintain case documentation, progress notes, and required reports within established timeframes.
  • Attend court proceedings and prepare court and permanency reports.
  • Maintain an active caseload and collaborate with internal teams and community providers.
  • Participate in team meetings, coaching sessions, and evidence-based practice implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a U.S. accredited institution (or credential evaluation for a non-U.S. degree) in Psychology, Sociology, BSW, or MSW is required.
  • 1–2 years of child welfare experience.
  • Must be Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Knowledge of community resources and the ability to navigate service systems for families.
  • Experience working with drug treatment populations. preferred.
  • Typing skills and computer literacy required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to child safety.
  • Valid Driver's License required

Pay Range

USD $28.61 - USD $32.12 /Hr.
