Responsibilities

The BIM Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Senior BIM Manager with coordinating our current projects under construction. This individual will serve as the central liaison between our internal teams, trades and consultants while ensuring seamless integration of complex MEP systems through advanced BIM workflows. This position will be based full-time onsite in the New York office. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

 

  • Develop and maintain a BIM coordination schedule aligned with the overall construction project schedule
  • Manage and organize the project coordination documents folder, ensuring all pertinent information is accessible to relevant trades
  • Oversee and coordinate all MEP trade models, integrating architectural and structural details
  • Facilitate and lead design coordination meetings between trades and consultants
  • Review, manage, and submit RFIs and shop drawings in a timely manner
  • Organize and maintain multiple coordination models and execute collision detection to identify and resolve conflicts proactively
  • Provide directional guidance to trades in response to design and owner changes as needed
  • Generate comprehensive 2D and 3D logistics plans to support field operations
  • Draft and model key project information to support coordination workflows
  • Create field coordination drawings derived from subcontractor shop drawings, including composite concrete equipment pad drawings, composite slab penetration drawings and composite wall penetration drawings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field
  • Prior experience on high-rise commercial and/or residential projects strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, NavisWorks and 3DS Max
  • Strong 2D drafting and 3D modeling capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience in running collision detection
  • Ability to work well with all individuals including stakeholders, trades, unions, vendors, tenants and senior management personnel
  • Exceptional communications skills – written and verbal
  • Highly entrepreneurial, self-motivated and results-oriented individual
