Program Overview

CUNY EDGE is a partnership between the City University of New York (CUNY) and the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA). Housed within the CUNY Office of Academic Affairs, the program combines academic, personal, and career support while helping students meet applicable HRA requirements. CUNY EDGE serves more than 3,500 students across 20 colleges each year and helps students progress toward timely graduation and fulfilling careers. For more information, visit cuny.edu/cunyedge.


Position Overview

Reporting to the CUNY EDGE Deputy Director of Career Development & Experiential Learning, the Program Support Coordinator provides day-to-day administrative and operational support for the CUNY EDGE Central Office. The position assists with fiscal processes, office logistics, shared resources, meetings, training sessions, and events; provides backup administrative support for the CUNY EDGE Fellowship Program; and coordinates with HRA to follow up on routine document questions and recurring program issues. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable coordinating with Central Office staff, campus teams, and external partners while handling confidential information appropriately.


Duties and Responsibilities

HRA Coordination and Case Resolution

路 Serve as a key point of contact between CUNY EDGE campus staff and HRA for program-related questions and case issues affecting student participation, including case and roster status, incomplete or rejected forms, training-related benefits and expenses, and Fellowship Program matters.

路聽Participate in regular HRA coordination meetings; gather questions from campuses, track open items and HRA updates, and coordinate follow-up with the appropriate HRA units.

路聽Troubleshoot and help resolve issues, escalate as needed, and maintain clear documentation of inquiries, actions, and outcomes.

路聽Identify recurring patterns or systemic issues across students or campuses and communicate guidance, updates, and process changes to campus staff and Central Office leadership.

路聽Handle student records and program information with appropriate confidentiality and discretion.


Central Office Operations and Administrative Support

路聽Support fiscal administration, including invoices, purchase orders, requisitions, reimbursements, vendor follow-up, and related documentation.

路聽Maintain office supplies and inventory; coordinate orders, storage, and distribution of centrally purchased materials and resources.

路聽Coordinate conference rooms, guest access, food orders, materials, and technology needs for meetings, trainings, and events, in collaboration with Facilities and IT.

路聽Maintain contact lists, internal directories, shared files, and other program records.

路聽Perform other related duties as assigned in support of CUNY EDGE operations.

Fellowship Program and Student Employment Backup

路聽Serve as backup for key Fellowship Program administrative functions and provide coverage during staff absences or periods of high volume, including assistance with onboarding, rosters, timekeeping, and related records.

路聽Review timesheets for completeness and proper approval; track deadlines and follow up with campuses to resolve missing information or discrepancies affecting onboarding or payroll processing.

路聽Maintain accurate logs and support routine Fellowship Program reporting and communications.


Qualifications

Minimum

路聽High school diploma or high school equivalency and two to three years of relevant administrative, program support, or customer service experience.

路聽Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.

路聽Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity.

路 Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, as well as virtual meeting, collaboration, and administrative systems.


Preferred

路聽Associate degree or some college coursework.

路聽Experience in higher education, student services, workforce development, or a related setting.

路聽Experience working with HRA or other public benefits programs, policies, procedures, or systems.

路聽Experience coordinating across multiple teams, campuses, agencies, vendors, or stakeholder groups.


Work Environment and Physical Requirements

路聽This is an 80/20 hybrid position (four days in the office), subject to change based on operational needs and CUNY Flexible Work Guidelines.

路聽Ability to travel to CUNY campus locations as needed.

路聽The role may require sitting for extended periods, using a computer and other office equipment and occasionally lifting items up to 20 pounds.
