KPF, an international architecture practice headquartered in New York City, is seeking a Design Technology Software Specialist to join our New York office. This role requires previous professional experience with Architecture/design firms and ideally familiar with Autodesk software. The candidate should have between 3-5 years of technical support experience and enthusiastic about technology.


We seek an individual with expertise and interest in all aspects of AEC design technologies, and with aspirations to be a leader in the industry. The position involves collaboration and communication with our technology teams, including testing and deploying software. Periodic interaction with senior KPF staff and department heads will be expected. Collaboration with offices in London, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai is also an important aspect of the position.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Test, evaluate, and provide feedback on design technology applications, plugins, and add-ins (e.g., Revit tools, Dynamo packages, Rhino/Grasshopper, internally developed tools).
  • Providing support and configuration of the company's deployed design technology software, ie. Autodesk products, McNeel Rhino, etc.
  • Interface with software support engineers to quickly resolve more complex problems.
  • Monitor and maintain tickets, requests, and messaging from application users.
  • Debug deployed software tools/systems and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Document workflows, troubleshooting steps, and best practices to expand internal knowledge resources and training materials.
  • Collaborate with BIM and Design Technology leads to identify recurring issues, enhance processes, and support consistency across project teams.
  • Participate in internal testing of new software releases and firm-developed tools to verify functionality, compatibility, and performance.
  • Help organize, maintain, and continuously develop design technology resources and documentation.
  • Provide targeted training sessions with new project teams on standards, new tools, or modeling strategies.
  • Stay informed about Autodesk updates and emerging design technology platforms, sharing relevant insights with the team.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a collaborative approach when diagnosing and resolving issues with project teams.

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design Technology, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in architecture, BIM, or design technology environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and BIM workflows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for users of varying experience levels.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated interest in AEC technologies, digital workflows, and continuous improvement.
    Comfortable interacting with internal stakeholders and collaborating with cross-disciplinary project teams.
  • Proactive learner who approaches new tools and technologies with curiosity and initiative.
  • Knows when to escalate issues for assistance and awareness

Work Environment: This position requires you to be in person in our New York office 5 days per week.


 

Pay Range:

$65,000.00 - $90,000.00 Annual
