The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Associate to join our Data Centers & Emerging Telecom team in New York. You will be a core member of transaction teams, taking ownership of financial analysis and execution work while helping senior bankers develop ideas and engage with clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on M&A, financing and strategic advisory assignments involving data center and telecommunications businesses and related digital infrastructure. You will translate sector research and operating assumptions into valuation analyses, transaction materials and client recommendations, while guiding Analysts and working directly with senior bankers, clients and other advisors.

Responsibilities
- Build and review financial and valuation models, including operating forecasts, discounted cash flow, comparable company and precedent transaction analyses, and transaction scenarios
- Assess the commercial drivers of data center and emerging telecommunications businesses, including, as relevant, contracted capacity, utilization, development pipelines, capital expenditures and power availability, and translate findings into forecasts and valuation conclusions
- Prepare client presentations, marketing materials and transaction analyses that clearly communicate sector dynamics, company positioning and strategic alternatives
- Support M&A, financing and strategic advisory execution, including due diligence, data gathering, process coordination, documentation and communication with clients and external advisors
- Research data center and emerging telecommunications markets, participants, transaction activity and investor priorities, and turn those insights into actionable origination ideas
- Own the accuracy and timeliness of analytical workstreams; direct, review and develop Analysts while coordinating effectively with senior bankers and other teams
- Build relationships with management teams, financial sponsors, investors and other industry participants through thoughtful analysis and responsive execution
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of Investment Banking and/or Mergers & Acquisitions experience, including work on data center or telecommunications transactions or client engagements
- Strong financial modeling, accounting and valuation skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience managing multiple workstreams, reviewing analytical output and guiding junior team members
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analysis effectively to senior bankers, clients and external advisors
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment and intellectual curiosity, with the ability to prioritize competing workstreams and deliver accurate work within tight deadlines
Education
- Undergraduate degree required; a focus in finance, business, accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering or a related discipline preferred
Additional Qualifications
- MBA or direct promotion from Analyst to Associate within investment banking preferred
Expected Salary Range:
- $175,000 - $225,000
