Position Summary:

The IPA/Navigator helps consumers access health coverage through the New York State of Health (NYSOH) Marketplace. This role manages the full enrollment process, from initial application through renewal, including interviewing consumers, collecting documentation, entering data, and providing ongoing follow-up and community outreach.



Responsibilities: 

  1. Attend all training required by the New York State Department of Health to acquire, improve, and maintain relevant knowledge and skills
  2. Attend all JPAFHC monthly trainings
  3. Maintain ethical standards at all times, including HIPAA compliance
  4. Provide in-person or over-the-phone enrollment and application assistance
  5. Educate enrollees on eligibility requirements and provide post-enrollment support
  6. Provide timely follow-up with applicants, including renewals and life change events
  7. Offer guidance on the appeals and grievance process
  8. Contact the NYSOH Customer Service Hotline to transfer accounts and resolve issues
  1. Participate in community outreach events to build rapport and educate the public on NYSOH and JPAFHC services
  2. Refer consumers to appropriate resource agencies (e.g., LDSS, CBOs) as needed
  1. Collect and report data to the Director, Associate Director, and Administrative Assistant
  2. Report issues and concerns to the Director and/or Associate Director for resolution
  3. Meet NYSOH and JPAFHC performance deliverables
  4. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director and Associate Director
  5. Travel between Queens and Brooklyn sites as needed to meet program and coverage needs


Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
  2. One year of experience providing health/social/human services-related assistance
  3. Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  4. Bilingual preferred
