Be Part Of A High-Performing Team

Join a mission-driven technology organization building digital platforms that directly support healthcare and care-delivery professionals. This engineering team is developing a modern assessment platform used by approximately 1,500 nurses for both in-person and virtual assessments, including offline functionality that synchronizes securely with backend systems.

The team is also advancing workflow orchestration and AI-agent capabilities designed to automate and improve clinician workflows. Engineers work in a modern, product-focused environment where technical leaders have significant influence over architecture, design decisions, engineering quality, and how new capabilities are delivered.

What’s In Store For You

  • Work on high-impact, public-facing and enterprise-scale digital products.
  • Lead architecture and technical design while remaining hands-on with modern full-stack technologies.
  • Build applications using technologies including React, TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, MongoDB, SQL, AWS, Docker, and modern CMS platforms.
  • Help develop AI-powered workflow automation and agent capabilities supporting clinical users.
  • Operate in a two-week sprint environment with close partnership across Product and Engineering.
  • Work alongside senior technical leaders, with New York City preferred and Richmond, VA as a secondary location.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Partner with Product Owners to translate business and product requirements into technically achievable solutions and architecture.
  • Own technical design decisions for complex features and systems, balancing scalability, performance, maintainability, and user experience.
  • Design architecture and data models using modern cloud-native technologies and engineering practices.
  • Break down technical initiatives, delegate development work across engineers, and maintain accountability for successful delivery.
  • Review engineering output for code quality, architectural consistency, performance, and production readiness.
  • Contribute hands-on across a modern stack including React, TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, MongoDB, SQL, AWS, Docker, and JavaScript frameworks.
  • Help build an assessment platform supporting approximately 1,500 nurses, including offline-first capabilities and synchronization with backend services.
  • Contribute to workflow orchestration systems and AI-agent capabilities designed to automate clinician workflows.
  • Champion performance and scalability for high-traffic, public-facing web applications.

Requirements

Do You Have The Expertise To Lead In Full Stack Architecture And Technical Delivery?

  • Significant software engineering experience with the technical depth expected of a Lead, Principal, Senior Staff, or equivalent hands-on engineering leader.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale, public-facing, high-traffic, or performance-sensitive web applications.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Strong modern frontend experience with React and JavaScript.
  • Experience designing APIs and application services using GraphQL.
  • Strong data modeling experience with MongoDB and/or SQL-based systems.
  • Experience designing cloud-native solutions using AWS and modern containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Demonstrated architecture and system-design capabilities, including the ability to turn product requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Experience providing technical direction, delegating development responsibilities, and reviewing engineering output without stepping away from hands-on engineering.
  • CMS experience is valuable, with Storyblok particularly relevant.
  • Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly and directly with Product Owners, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience balancing technical tradeoffs involving scalability, performance, user experience, maintainability, and delivery timelines.
