Job DetailsJob Location: Bronx , NY 10453Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Masters DegreeSalary Range: $69,932.00 - $163,820.00 Salary/yearJob Category: EducationĀ The Reading Intervention Teacher provides targeted instructional support to meet the literacy needs of struggling students through pull-out services and push-in support within the classroom setting.Ā The role requires the ability to build trusting relationships with struggling readers and foster a supportive learning environment to achieve growth in our studentsā literacy. The ideal candidate is adaptive in nature, has a positive approach to challenges, and is relentless in their pursuit of seeing every child become a reader.Ā This position is responsible for planning, monitoring, reporting, communicating student progress and performance, and collaborating with general education staff. Essential Responsibilities Identify students for placement intervention groups in collaboration with the instructional team Plan and deliver high-quality small group instruction that meets the targeted needs of scholars (decoding/ fluency/comprehension) Administer ongoing reading assessments to monitor the progress of intervention efforts Collaborate with classroom teachers, as needed, around teaching reading and supporting students in the mainstream setting, andĀ best classroom instructional practices Collaborate with other Reading Intervention Teachers to ensure programs support each other and align appropriately across school divisions Uses identified research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student needsĀ Maintains data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progressĀ Provides data to school teams and participates in decisions about student progressĀ Communicate with teachers, administration, and families regarding student progress Participates in meetings with teachers, administration, and families to discuss student placement and progressĀ Provides diagnostic assessments for students as neededĀ Attends the appropriate training to improve knowledge and skillsĀ Ā Performs other related duties as assigned Knowledge and skillsĀ Able to work independently and in a self-reliant manner Ability to turn best practices into high-quality, goal-drivenĀ results Ability to apply instructional strategies for differentiation Ability to collect data and make course placement recommendations for students Displays effective time management skills Experience with data management tools, organizational tools, and computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook).Ā Possesses strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills to communicate with a varied audienceĀ QualificationsRequired - Master's in Education, Special Education, or related fieldĀ Required - NYS Certification in a related fieldĀ Required - At least two years of prior teaching experience.
