The Landline Company Â
The Landline Company (landlineco.com) is revolutionizing air travel by bridging the gap between regional communities and major airline hubs. We partner with top airlines like American and Air Canada to offer innovative multimodal connections across North America. We’ve launched a first of it’s kind remote terminal checkpoint to expand the reach of major metro airports into local neighborhood checkpoints. Our luxury motorcoaches replace short flights with a faster, more sustainable alternative in reducing costs, addressing pilot shortages, and enhancing passenger journeys. Â
Salary: 80,000 – 120,000Â
Job Type:Â Full Time, Salary ExemptÂ
The Role:Â
As our Operations Analyst / Industrial Engineer, you'll own the systems and processes that keep our multimodal network running smoothly. You'll design the schedules that connect passengers between our motorcoaches and airline partners, plan operations across a growing set of stations, and continuously refine our processes to drive productivity and reliability. Think of this as an internal-consultant role where you'll build relationships across our operations groups, dig into where their biggest pain points are, and develop technical solutions to solve them. This is a role for someone who loves digging into data and is equally comfortable walking into a depot or team huddle and talking through problems with drivers, dispatchers, and station managers. You'll turn operational data into decisions that improve the passenger experience and the efficiency of our network.Â
The Role Will:Â
- Design, build, and maintain schedules across our motorcoach and multimodal network, balancing passenger connections, crew utilization, and costÂ
- Lead operations planning as we scale into new markets and add stationsÂ
- Analyze operational performance data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvementÂ
- Design and document processes and standard operating procedures that scale across locationsÂ
- Develop metrics, dashboards, and reporting to track productivity, on-time performance, and asset utilizationÂ
- Support capacity planning, resource allocation, and continuous-improvement initiativesÂ
- Develop metrics, dashboards, and reporting to track productivity, on-time performance, and asset utilizationÂ
- Act as an internal consultant to station teams, dispatch, and leadership, forging relationships across the operations groups, surfacing their biggest pain points, and translating analysis into practical, on-the-ground process improvementsÂ
- Support capacity planning, resource allocation, and continuous-improvement initiativesÂ
Â
What We’re Looking For:Â
- 2 – 5 years of experience in transportation operations, logistics, aviation, fleet operations, or operations-focused consulting including transportations, or a similar fieldÂ
- A degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain, a related field or equivalent hands-on experience in an operations analyst, ops consulting, or industrial engineering roleÂ
- Strong data and analytical skills (Excel required; SQL, Python, or BI tools like Tableau/Power BI a plus)Â
- Comfort using and recommending AI tools (e.g. Claude Code or similar) to move quickly across a diverse and shifting set of projectsÂ
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with data and with frontline hourly staffÂ
- A high-energy, self-directed approach and enthusiasm for solving operational problems in a fast-moving startup environmentÂ
- Familiarity with Fleetio, Samsara, or similar fleet-management/telematics platforms is a strong plusÂ
- Comfort working remotely while collaborating across multiple locations and time zonesÂ
- The ability to think "bigger" than any single function as someone who understands the balancing act between commercial, finance, and operations, and can design solutions that serve the whole business rather than optimizing for one group at another's expenseÂ
- Six Sigma certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, etc.) is a nice-to-have Â
- Comfort working remotely while collaborating across multiple locations and time zonesÂ
