About Tru Medical
Tru Medical is a primary care and women's health practice with two Brooklyn locations. Our patients choose us because they can be seen quickly by a team that knows them. Our call center is the first voice most of them hear.
What you'll do
You'll work in a small, organized call center team of 5. Each day is split into two blocks:
- Inbound (half your day): answer patient calls, schedule and reschedule appointments in eClinicalWorks, offer same-day or next-day visits first, and handle online booking requests and patient texts.
- Outbound (the other half): confirm upcoming appointments, call patients who cancelled or missed a visit to rebook them, and work patient recall lists from a clear daily plan.
- Document every call accurately in the patient's chart (telephone encounter).
- Help with insurance follow-up calls flagged by our billing team, referrals and faxes.
- Cover the front desk occasionally for lunches and absences, after training.
What a typical day looks like
Our team handles about 175 inbound calls a day, plus outbound confirmation and recall calls. You'll know your assignment every morning before phones open, and you'll get a 60-minute admin block for paperwork. We measure results by the team's numbers, and we coach to them.
What we're looking for
- 1+ year in a medical office, call center or customer service role. Medical scheduling experience is a strong plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
- Comfortable on the phone all day, with a calm, friendly, professional manner.
- Accurate typing and documentation. What you write in a chart must be exactly what happened.
- Reliable attendance and on-time arrival. Our team depends on full coverage every hour we're open.
- eClinicalWorks, Zocdoc or healow experience is a plus. We'll train you on our systems.
Training and growth
- A structured 90-day training plan with a dedicated trainer, observed sign-offs and check-ins at 30, 60 and 90 days.
- A clear career ladder: Call Center Representative, then Senior Representative, then Call Center Lead. You can also cross-train toward front desk, office administrator or medical assistant roles.
- Monthly one-on-ones with your manager.
Benefits
- Paid time off (PTO)
- Paid sick time
- Holiday pay
Hiring process
Phone screen, then in-person interview, then a paid 2-hour working trial (mock calls and scheduling).
