DESCRIPTION

Lead research development and planning and operations for programs with focus on outreach, agenda-setting, and program expansion, laying the foundation for an integrated, networked community of research fellows. Recruit potential research fellows. Conduct outreach to higher education institutions, arts organizations, nonprofits, and advocacy groups to attract a diverse set of applicants to the program and establish strong commitment to the goals of the program in these institutional spaces. Advise and mentor fellows on research design, making research available to international and national policy makers, and drafting research outputs. Organize and facilitate four research workshops each year for fellows to create a sense of community, promote research collaboration and cross-learning, and promote fellows’ success and impact. Work closely with the Just Tech Advisory Board and network of researchers and academicians to determine content for the Just Tech digital platform and present the latest research in technology and inequality to a range of constituencies. Coordinate publication of an agenda-setting set of literature reviews and publications that will map foundational research in the technology and social justice field and identify new research agendas. Oversee the program’s online presence, including website, social media, and dissemination of fellows’ research nationally. Plan, organize, and chair research events such as conferences, workshops, and speaker series, including preparing meeting agendas, drafting concept notes, and event research summary notes. Develop and draft research summaries synthetizing the work of all the fellows and discussing what is known about the various themes (from the literature and their own work), the gaps, and the importance of filling these gaps through this research. Develop and manage research program grant proposals, grant reports, and budgets, and provide program evaluations. Collaborate with SSRC colleagues in other programs on identifying new program development and writing grant funding proposals.
