Overview

Job Purpose

This role sits at the center of ICE’s index design, build, and delivery process. As a Senior Analyst on the IDI product team, you will lead the design and verification of new index products, translating client demand and market insight into robust, production-ready indices. You will also contribute to research publications and client-facing materials that communicate the value of ICE’s index franchise. The position requires strong analytical judgment, the ability to work with large and complex datasets, and clear, effective written communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and prototyping of bespoke and standard fixed income, equity, or commodity indices in partnership with IDI product, R&D, and quantitative teams to meet client and market demand

  • Own the end-to-end verification of new index builds—validating that methodology rules have been correctly implemented and that calculated data is accurate at both the security and index level

  • Analyze, interpret, and quality-check large datasets spanning analytics, index constituents, and portfolio-level metrics using Python, SQL, and advanced Excel

  • Develop and maintain proficiency with the ICE Index Platform (Index Constituents, Profiling tool, Data Download, Custom Index tool, etc.), which is central to daily workflows; onboarding and training will be provided

  • Contribute to research publications, market commentary, and methodology documentation—preparing charts, tables, and written analysis that translate complex index data into clear takeaways for internal stakeholders and clients

  • Identify and implement workflow efficiencies and process improvements that increase accuracy and reduce turnaround time

  • Provide ad hoc research and data analysis to support the global IDI product team

Knowledge & Experience

Required

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Econometrics, Finance, Technology, or a related quantitative field

  • 3–5 years of experience in credit research, reference data, security pricing, portfolio management, trading, indices, or ETF design

  • Proficiency with Python and Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation); working knowledge of SQL

  • Familiarity with common construction methodologies for equity and fixed income indices, and with index and portfolio analytics

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into specific, actionable takeaways

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into clear, accessible language for diverse audiences

  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of ownership over accuracy and quality

  • Ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Competence with Windows Office tools (Word, PowerPoint) for presentations and documentation

Preferred

  • Professional certifications such as CFA or CIPM

  • Knowledge of product management procedures and frameworks

  • Experience with database querying and scripting beyond basic SQL

  • Eagerness to learn new tools and methodologies, and to collaborate across functions and geographies
