About the Role
Payments is the money-movement and treasury layer of StavPay. It moves money from clients to vendors across every rail, bank, entity, and currency, and runs the bank-side operations that make money movement actually work. Alts firms have payment and treasury complexity that consumer fintechs never see, and we’ve built the platform that handles it. The roadmap ahead is just as ambitious: smarter automation, deeper bank integrations, and AI that closes the loop with the rest of StavPay.
You’ll own Payments end to end. Vision, strategy, roadmap, customer experience, platform, and provider strategy. You’ll be the Payments person at Stavtar, not one of many on a large payments team.
What You’ll Do
• Lead the Payments roadmap across wires, ACH, checks, FX, and the bank-side operations behind them.
• Spend deep time with the controllers and AP teams at our clients to ground the roadmap in what they actually need.
• Own the platform: payment state model, bank integrations, treasury operations, compliance posture, and how Payments plugs into the rest of StavPay.
• Drive the provider strategy: which rails through which partners, what we build vs. buy, and how the stack evolves.
• Partner with our bank and processor relationships on roadmap and capabilities.
• Work cross-functionally across the entire company. Ship like a founding team.
What We’re Looking For
• You’ve built a payments product end to end. Real ownership on payment rails, treasury operations, or money-movement infrastructure at a fintech, bank, or payments infra company.
• You know the payments and treasury stack at production depth. ACH, wires, RTP/FedNow, ISO 20022, OFAC, NACHA, maker-checker, reconciliation, multi-currency, settlement, provider failover. You’ve debugged at every layer, not just spec’d it.
• Product taste. You can spot the difference between great and good in 30 seconds, and you don’t ship anything you wouldn’t proudly demo.
• You ship by building, not speccing. You hand engineering a working prototype before a five-page PRD.
• AI is part of how you work. You use it daily for writing, analysis, prototyping, and research. You have a real point of view on where AI creates customer value inside a payments product and where it’s just noise.
• You write like a craft. Your docs change how people think, not just what they do.
• Customer-grounded. You’d rather sit with a user for an hour than read a survey for a week.
• Elite judgment. You make the right call under uncertainty. You know what to ship, what to defer, and what to kill.
• Founder energy. You own outcomes end to end. You set the agenda. You don’t wait for direction.
