The Sourcing Intern supports the Sourcing team with the day-to-day coordination of raw materials and sample yardage activities. This internship provides hands-on exposure to fabric and trim development, supplier communication, and product tracking in PLM, with a focus on organization, data accuracy, and on-time execution.
The ideal candidate is eager to learn, comfortable working across multiple priorities, and proactive with follow-up. They collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners (Design, Product Development, Technical Design, Production) and help maintain clear documentation throughout the development process.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Support sales sample yardage (SSY) requests and tracking: log requests, confirm details, and follow up on deliveries
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with maintaining SSY records, including organizing physical swatches and saving digital files in the correct locations
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Help with PLM data entry and upkeep for fabrics and trims (codes, descriptions, testing status, supplier information)
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Create and update tracking logs for submits and testing submissions; communicate status updates to the team
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Prepare development packages and reference charts under the guidance of the Sourcing Manager/Assistant
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Support consolidation of feedback and approvals by capturing notes and distributing recaps to cross-functional partners
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist in maintaining the raw material library (labeling, filing, inventory counts, and storage organization)
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Coordinate shipment intake/outbound sample packages (receive, sort, and route to the correct owners)
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide general administrative support to the Sourcing team as needed
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree (or recent graduate) in Fashion Merchandising, Supply Chain, Business, Textile Science, or a related field
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong attention to detail with comfort working in spreadsheets and tracking logs
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; willingness to learn PLM systems
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Clear written and verbal communication skills; professional follow-up with internal partners and vendors
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and maintain organized files (digital and physical)
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Internship or coursework experience in sourcing, product development, production, or materials
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Interest in fabrics, trims, and basic apparel construction; familiarity with development milestones (concept through production)
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience with PLM, Illustrator, or similar product tracking/design tools (nice to have)
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Highly organized with strong file management and follow-through
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Data accuracy and comfort working with multiple trackers at once
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Team-first mindset and ability to collaborate across functions
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Curiosity and initiative to learn, especially new systems and processes quickly
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Professionalism when communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 In-office internship in the New York Office (schedule to be confirmed based on school/program requirements)
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 May require occasional extended hours during peak development periods
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to lift and move sample packages and materials (typically up to 25 lbs) as needed
