Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) — a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York — seeks a strategic and detail-oriented Talent Development Specialist to support the planning, administration, and delivery of learning and development programs that enhance employee growth and organizational effectiveness. 

This role is instrumental in supporting initiatives that enhance workforce performance, leadership development, and employee growth.  The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and passionate about creating exceptional learning experiences and supporting employee development through effective learning operations.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Analytics, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, or related field. 
  • 1-3 years of experience in talent development, Human Resources, or learning analytics.  
  • Experience administering learning management systems in complex organizations  
  • Familiarity with instructional design methodologies and learning evaluation models.  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience supporting enterprise-level talent development initiatives. 
  • Certification in Talent Development, HR analytics, or project management, or strategy (e.g., CPTD, PHR, PMP). 
  • Familiarity with instructional design models and adult learning principles.

What You’ll Do 

Learning Program Administration & Coordination  

  • Coordinate and administer leadership development programs, including participant communications, scheduling, assessments, enrollment tracking, and program evaluation.  
  • Maintain training project plans and calendars to ensure learning activities are delivered on schedule. 
  • Prepare program materials, learner resources, evaluations, and attendance records.  
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to support smooth program delivery. 

Instructional Design & Learning Program Support  

  • Apply instructional design principles to support the development and enhancement of learning content.  
  • Assist with the development, maintenance, and updating of training materials, job aids, presentations, and asynchronous content.  
  • Evaluate program effectiveness using models such as Kirkpatrick and recommend improvements.  
  • Facilitate virtual and in-person training sessions, workshops, and development programs as needed. 

Learning Systems & Technology  

  • Manage day-to-day administration of the Learning Management System (LMS), including user accounts, course assignments, enrollments, reporting, and monitoring system data accuracy. 
  • Troubleshoot learner issues related to course access and completion of records.  
  • Coordinate with technology vendors and internal partners to resolve LMS-related issues.  
  • Maintain training records and generate standard reports on learning participation and completion. 

Knowledge Management & Compliance  

  • Support the development and maintenance of learning resources, knowledge repositories, and training documentation.  
  • Assist with updating learning content and resources to ensure information remains accurate and accessible.  
  • Assist with mandatory compliance training administration by tracking assignments, completions, and overdue requirements.  
  • Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning across the organization.  

Talent Development Reporting & Learning Analytics  

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to learning effectiveness, engagement, performance outcomes, and other key program metrics. 
  • Develop and maintain recurring reports and dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to visualize KPIs and trends across talent development programs.  
  • Partner with People Analytics to ensure alignment with broader HR metrics and reporting.  
  • Ensure organizational reporting requirements are met.

  • 3/2 hybrid schedule
