Job Description:
In this specific role, you provide communications planning leadership on a major CPG brand. Experience in this industry is a ideal. You will be responsible for creating a link between the agency and divisional client management, and to drive the smooth creation and delivery of communication and media plans.  You will be the broad thinking driver and motivator of the strategy and activation teams that support a given division and are directly responsible for the holistic communication plan and design aspects for their account. You provide strategic direction for your account and demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the client’s business as well as the overall technology/competitive landscape.Â
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYÂ
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:Â
Communications Planning:Â
Deep knowledge and experience with multiple communication channels and their role in brand marketingÂ
Lead negotiator in team deliverables and evaluation criteria with Brand and client’s Corporate managementÂ
Leads Communications Planning effort both in terms of high-level solution design as well as in management approach for each groupÂ
Quality control over all strategy/implementation/integration issuesÂ
Balance needs of agency and Aegis Media resources, with a responsibility to facilitate and foster relevant partnershipsÂ
Will oversee several brands/sub-brands across multiple divisionsÂ
Contribute, participate and present in agency new business efforts and presentationsÂ
Client & Internal Relationships:Â
 Cultivate client and media relationships specifically at senior levels
Manage expectations of senior clients and deliverablesÂ
Identify and secure relationships with key senior clients to deepen agency relationshipÂ
Serve as the lead in managing the agency-client relationship Â
Strong understanding of client’s business environment and agency services business modelsÂ
Accurately represent the client’s point of view when reviewing work, leverage this perspective when providing feedback to team and presenting to clientÂ
Grow business opportunities within current clientsÂ
Ensure collaboration among all agency departments; foster great teamworkÂ
Unparalleled client service professionalism, maturity, and diplomacyÂ
Actively represent the agency within industry (attending industry functions, joining local market committees)Â
Strategic Thinking & Leadership:Â
Demonstrate a deep knowledge of client brands, brands equity, consumer definition and motivationsÂ
Lead overarching strategic thinking, ensure media strategy is align and meets client objectivesÂ
View strategic goals in a broader business contextÂ
Establish priorities for key agency projectsÂ
Initiate long-term projects for teams that will contribute to greater agency revenueÂ
Demonstrate strong analytical and strategic skills to help solve client’s business problemsÂ
Proven leadership ability – experience managing multiple groups of planners, supervisors and directors Â
Arrive at solutions that balance the needs of the agency with the larger Dentsu Aegis NetworkÂ
Actively keep current with industry trends, media business and tools – buying systems, research, AI tools, resources and associations Â
Ensure key information is provided to team regarding client issues, internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc.Â
Manage assigned groups’ staffing needs (hiring, promotions, performance)Â
Manage the work of assigned communication planning groups, providing leadership, direction and motivation as appropriateÂ
Construct and deliver accurate, honest and timely performance management documentsÂ
Train, motivate and develop assigned staffÂ
Communication Skills:Â
Encourage open, ongoing internal communicationÂ
Establish and maintain communications process with senior clients, media buying AOR, and agency service teams for each piece of business within the teamÂ
Direct the development of client presentations and other important communication, communication that is clear, compelling and persuasiveÂ
Lead client presentationsÂ
Adapt communications style to relevant audienceÂ
Link communication to audience’s concerns and perspectivesÂ
Move audience to desired action through clear and persuasive delivery of informationÂ
Proven ability to think strategically, with a balanced analytical and creative approach, and the ability to teach others to think strategicallyÂ
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREDÂ
Bachelor’s degreeÂ
14 + years of marketing/communications planning experience, which include progressive client management experience Â
Deep knowledge and experience with multi-channel marketing
Experience working on a major CPG/ Beverage/ Alcohol/ spirits brand
Experience with tools such as: Nielsen Comspoint, MMM (Media Mix Modeling Solutions), Pathmatics, Vivix, and other competitive tools.Â
Strong client service experienceÂ
High-level proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
The annual salary range for this position is 170K - 195K. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law. Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.
