Job DetailsJob Location: Open Position - Staten Island, NY 10301Position Type: Part TimeSalary Range: $17.00 - $17.00 HourlyJob Overview: The Custodial Worker will clean, sanitize, and maintain the Day Habilitation Facility to ensure a safe environment for our staff and individuals with intellectual and or developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include: Perform general cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services throughout the assigned property. Use cleaning cart to transport cleaning supplies. Clean and disinfect bathrooms. Clean and disinfect kitchen and dining areas. Dust all horizontal surfaces, including desktops, chairs, tables and other furnishings. Wash dishes, utensils, glasses, pots, and pans. Wipe and dust surfaces in rooms and clean mirrors. Vacuum and clean floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes. Perform spot checks on equipment to ensure proper working conditions. Pick up and empty trash containers. Wipe down plastic and leather furniture. Remove fingerprints and marks from switch plates and door frames. Dust ledges and windowsills. Perform all high and low dusting including all windowsills, behind doors, light fixtures, etc. Notify maintenance if something is not working properly. Wipe down all baseboards. Spot clean tile walls, walls around sinks and toilet partitions, walls around main door and wall underneath automatic hand  dryers. Dust tops of partitions, mirrors and frames. Clean and disinfect sinks, toilet bowls, and urinals. Disinfect underside and tops of toilet seats. Clean and sanitize shower stalls and fixtures, if any. Clean the front of vending machines, refrigerators and door frames. Maintains a neat and orderly janitor’s room, ensure cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked. Wash windows. Ensure assigned facilities are ready for regular business and special events. Perform other duties as assigned.  QualificationsPhysical Requirements: Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending. Must be able to endure long hours of continuous work. Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift up to 25 pounds at a time. Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities. Qualifications: Sufficient ability to communicate job related functions and needs. Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards. Must know how to use common house cleaning implements such as mops, floor waxes, and scouring pads to keep areas clean and well serviced. Ability to follow instructions. Excellent time management skills. Willing and able to work flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary and as assigned.
