About the Role:

SNY is seeking a Freelance Teleprompter Operator with a passion for NY sports. This role works closely with the Director and Operations Management to support live, taped, and automated programming. The position requires flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays, from our studio at 4 World Trade Center in New York, NY.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with technical and news staff to support production needs for live, taped, and automated programming, under the supervision of the Director and Operations Management.
  • Maintain continuity of all related teleprompter equipment, including facs out and shutdown procedures at the end of the day.
  • During taped elements, engage the enCaption captioning machine for subtitles.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Communications, or equivalent work experience required.
  • One (1) year of experience in TV studio production is preferred.
  • Aptitude and desire to be trained at the next technical level (Stage/A2/Stage Utility).
  • With proper training, serve as a fill-in for all other Tech 1 positions as needed, including Robotic Camera, Teleprompter, Video, and Playback.
  • Proficiency in iNEWS or a similar newsroom software system is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Must be a collaborative team player who works well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic studio environment.
