Machine Operator - Manufacturing – Full Time – Newbern, TN 38059 (Bowl Chopper Operator – Batching)

This position starts at $22.30/hr. with a shift increase for second and third shift and potential for overtime.  We have open positions for first shift.

This facility operates five days a week and produces Sausage Patties, Sausage Links and Roll Sausage.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Set up equipment in preparation for startup, and responsible for operating the bowl chopper in the batching department, while also adhering to good safety practices, food safety policies, and company policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the proper setup and operation of the chopper.
• Responsible for ordering meat from batcher in kill department.
• Responsible for ordering meat in proper sequence to keep link department running.
• Must be willing and able to distinguish material to be worked on/around and act on material to be used.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Perform various other tasks as assigned by Lead person, Supervisor or Superintendent.
• Must be willing and able to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit temperature for minimum of 8 hours.
• Must be willing and able to pinch/grip product and place into specified location.
• Must be willing and able to perform the following task for periods of 8 hours on concrete floor, some of which may include but is not limited to bending, twisting, reaching, standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting. 
• May occasionally be required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Internal: Must not have more than 5 attendance occurrences. Must not have a disciplinary suspension on file in the past 6 months.  Must have been in current position for a minimum of 6 months unless this position is a grade higher than what you currently occupy. 

• Must have been in current position 6 months, for lateral or demotion. *can promote anytime*
•  Must have less than 4 points - no written warnings in the past 6 mths and no suspensions in the last 12 months
