Interstate Warehousing is hiring a Maintenance Technician at IWI Newport News.This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with tools, and helping keep a facility running safely and efficiently. Previous maintenance experience is not required. We offer on-site training for the right candidate.Position DetailsFull-time positionSchedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.On-site training providedExperience is not required What You’ll DoAs a Maintenance Technician, you will assist with daily maintenance needs throughout the facility and help install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, building systems, and physical structures. Responsibilities include:Completing general facility upkeep, including pressure washing, painting, sanitation, and related tasksWorking safely and reporting unsafe acts or conditionsRepairing plumbing issues, including pressure regulators and valvesAssisting with the maintenance and repair of concrete flooringTroubleshooting and repairing electric forklifts, including motors, drive units, and hydraulic cylindersChanging and troubleshooting electrical contacts when necessaryMaintaining building equipment and reporting service needs as requiredPerforming preventative maintenance on equipment such as freezer doors, forklifts, and other facility systemsReporting food safety and quality concerns to a supervisorSupporting a safe, dependable, and well-maintained work environmentCompleting other duties as assignedQualifications: What We’re Looking ForHelpful experience, but not required:General maintenanceMechanical repairElectrical troubleshootingPlumbingForklift or equipment repairFacility upkeep or industrial work Required for the role:Willingness to learn through on-site trainingAbility to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and follow-throughDependable work habits and a team-focused mindset Join the Interstate Warehousing TeamAt Interstate Warehousing, our team plays an important role in keeping facility operations safe, reliable, and efficient.
