Fabrication Technician Summary: Assists with ensuring tasks are performed within budget and schedule. Provides technical guidance as needed.

Responsibilities

Support the Fabrication department by performing the technical duties associated with fabrication and assembly tasks including handwork, fit and finish.
Verify conformance of finished assembly to specified tolerances, blueprint specifications, and other required specifications with various measurement tools, including, but not limited to, calipers, scales, micrometers, and gauges
Interpret, select, adopt and apply appropriate guidelines, procedures, and practices which relate to appropriate assemblies, disassembles and component rework or repair
Highlights issues and concerns early with the Fabrication Supervisor to be able to resolve effectively to achieve task, program and company objectives

Preferred Education / Experience:

Associates Degree;
3+ years of related discipline; or
A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
May be required to travel up to 10% of the time
Demonstrated knowledge of fabrication procedures, special materials & tools, and Foreign Object Detection (FOD) prevention
Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems
