Overview

Sunday River is seeking hardworking, reliable, and energetic individuals to join our Competition On-Hill Crew. This team is responsible for building, maintaining, and tearing down race and event mountain throughout the winter season. Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities for Competitions on Hill Crew

  • Advocate of Safety – Team members are expected to actively promote and act as a role model with Sunday River’s safety policies.Ā 
  • Commitment to Exceptional Guest Service – Team members are expected to provide all guests with a caring, efficient, and quality experience.Ā  Every guest interaction should be focused on sharing our passion for extraordinary service and creating lifelong skiers and snowboarders.Ā 
  • Support Teamwork – Team members are expected to work effectively and efficiently with fellow team members and managers, fulfill schedule commitments and add availability during peak times, be on time and prepared for work, be pro-active in helping during registration times, willing to take on more responsibilities as needed and accept daily assignments with a positive ā€œcan-doā€ attitude!Ā 
  • Pursue Professional Development – Team members are encouraged to take advantage of in-house training and mentoring.  Team members should actively assess their skills and seek feedback and guidance from other team members, trainers, and managers that can support their development.Ā  Team members should be committed to improving, learning, and developing. Other responsibilitiesĀ 

  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of racecourses, freestyle venues, and terrain features.Ā 
  • Assist athlete and teams with competition and event information.Ā 
  • Install fencing, signage, gates, timing systems, and other on-hill infrastructureĀ 
  • Maintain course safety, surface preparation, and snow maintenance throughout eventsĀ 
  • Work closely with the Competition & Events Department to ensure smooth execution of competitionsĀ 
  • Operate tools and equipment safely in a mountain environmentĀ 
  • Provide exceptional support and a positive guest experience for athletes and spectatorsĀ 
  • Other duties as assigned.Ā 

Qualifications

  • Must be able to ski or snowboard confidently on intermediate terrainĀ 
  • Comfortable working outdoors in winter weather for extended periodsĀ 
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs, and perform physically demanding tasksĀ 
  • Team player with strong communication skillsĀ 
  • Prior event or race crew experience is a plus, but not requiredĀ 
  • Alpine Official Certifications are preferred.Ā 
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays during competition and event periodsĀ

Compensation & BenefitsĀ 

  • Wages range from $17 - $24 per hour, depending on experience, with opportunities for professional growth and advancementĀ
