Job DetailsJob Location: Main Office - Newton, MA 02459Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 Salary/yearHospice Nurse Practitioner  Named by The Boston Globe as one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts for the last four years, our community-based, mission-driven hospice and palliative care organization seeks an experienced and compassionate nurse practitioner to join our dynamic team in a full-time role. The hospice nurse practitioner will join our expanding interdisciplinary team providing care for hospice patients in the community setting.   Job Responsibilities: Complete face-to-face visits for initial and ongoing hospice eligibility, assessing disease-related changes, declines in functional and cognitive status, and symptom burden, including effectiveness of current interventions  Communicate significant visit findings (including unmanaged symptoms and eligibility concerns) to the designated hospice physician, in a timely fashion Engage with, and work alongside, other members of the hospice interdisciplinary team  Provide symptom management recommendations for current hospice patients, as necessary Prescribe medications for current hospice patients, as necessary Document visits in a timely fashion     Schedule and Weekly Hours: Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm (40 hours)   Education, Skills and Experience: Master’s degree from an accredited program and a current nurse practitioner license valid in the state of Massachusetts  2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of experience in hospice, palliative care, or oncology Familiarity with Medicare Part A hospice regulations and eligibility requirements A professional and caring demeanor Ability to take initiative, work independently, and manage time well    Outstanding communication skills and willingness to converse with other members of the hospice interdisciplinary team, medical staff in the community, and patients and their families Comfort working with culturally diverse patients/families Able to document in an electronic medical record, after adequate training   Good Shepherd Benefits:   Competitive salary Four weeks paid time off in first year, to increase with tenure 12 paid holidays  Health, dental, and vision insurance: coverage begins as of your start date Life insurance 403(b) with company match Flexible Spending Account Short and Long Term Disability  Employee Assistance Program Partnership with Regis College for reduced tuition rates    Pay Range: $110,000-$130,000 - This number reflects an average range for this position.
