JOB TITLE:                           Shipping Coordinator

DEPARTMENT:                      Shipping 

FLSA STATUS:                      Non-Exempt

Schedule:                              Monday – Thursday 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Overtime may be required beyond the posted work schedule and may vary on a weekly basis.

SUMMARY

This job will incur many responsibilities related to shipping, from packing pillows for UPS to prioritizing orders for on-time shipment.  The ability to make informed decisions using critical thinking skills is very important.  The ability to multitask and time management is crucial to the position.  There are many parties involved in facilitating shipments, so effective communication skills are key to the success of the position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Packing and Shipping UPS and FedEx packages
  • Running reports (S list, remaining pieces)
  • Keeping track of priority orders in production
  • Communicating with multiple parties to facilitate pickups.
  • All other duties as assigned. 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Furniture manufacturing knowledge. 
  • Strong Excel, AS400, and Word experience. 
  • Good analytical……
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
  • Confident, independent action, initiative, a sense of urgency, and ability to make decisions and take responsibility for them.
  • Must recognize and adjust to change.
  • Ability to analyze information and determine how information relates to the company’s strategic plan. 
  • Ability to multitask and effectively manage time.

EFFORT

  • Works in fast past manufacturing environment
  • Operate computer and keyboard.
  • Walks periodically on production floor and other plant locations (when necessary)
  • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
